ThermaSkirt takes part in Salford University's Energy House heating system tests
The £16 million Energy House 2 in Salford University is a facility big enough for developers to build full-sized houses inside, and then control the climate around them so that their heating systems can be tested under laboratory conditions. Conditions such as rain, snow, wind and temperatures as low as -20°C can be created and maintained for defined periods to test how the different heating systems perform and determine how they will meet the requirements of the Future Homes Standard.

Preventing The Spread of Coronavirus
The Department of Health has issued guidelines for preventing the spread of the Corona Virus (CoVid 19) which highlights the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. In particular, washing of hands for more than 20 seconds every time you meet, greet, eat, sneeze or use the toilet has been promoted as a way of reducing the spread of infection. This in and of itself will add significant time to the average day of a healthcare provider and cleaning and maintenance staff.

Flood Proof Skirting Boards
With recent weather events hitting the headlines, thoughts have turned from cleaning to rebuilding and renovating those properties devastated by flood water. With thousands of homes under several feet of water, there is much work to be done. The Government has indicated it will look again at the UK's flood defences and warning system, but tacitly admits there is precious little it can do to prevent these so called one-in-a-hundred-year floods happening ever year.

Morgan Stanley Bank, Docklands, London
Right in the heart of London's financial district stands the Morgan Stanley building designed by the world famous architects SOM. Despite the multi million pound heating and cooling system installed, there were concerns raised about the heating in many of the meeting rooms and offices in the building. A simple fix seemed impossible, until the Facilities Manager spotted the ThermaSkirt e electric skirting heating system.

EasyClean tackles spread of infection
On the 1st of August 2015, the Department of Health is issuing a compulsory nationwide vaccination for Meningococcal group W for first year university students due to start studies this September. Meningococcal group W (known as MenW) is a virulent strain of bacterial meningitis that has been on the rise since 2009 and is causing concern amongst universities due to the susceptibility of adolescents and young adults to the bacteria. In 2014 there were 117 confirmed cases of MenW and this figure is continuing to rise.
