Frequently Asked Questions

Registration FAQs

How long does the registration take?
The application itself takes around five minutes. From there, we verify your credentials and arrange a training day at our Manchester HQ, once that's complete, qualified leads in your area will start coming through.
Is there a cost to join the network?
No. Registration is completely free for qualified professionals. We just ask that you maintain a high standard of work and customer service.
How are territories assigned?
Territories are assigned based on your primary operating postcode and typical travel radius. We limit the number of installers per region to ensure you get a healthy volume of leads rather than diluting them among too many fitters.
What tools do I need for ThermaSkirt installation?
A chop saw with a metal-cutting blade, plastic pipe cutters, a utility knife, tape measure, pencil, pry bar, mallet, and screwdrivers or screw guns. We supply a deburring/reaming tool and pick tool in every kit. No specialist tools are required beyond what you'd find in a standard plumbing or joinery toolkit.
Do I need different qualifications for wet vs electric systems?
Yes. For wet (H2O) systems connecting to boilers, you'll need Gas Safe registration or relevant plumbing qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3). For ThermaSkirt-e (electric), installation must be carried out by a competent electrician to BS 7671 / IEC 60364. Heat pump qualifications are relevant if connecting to ASHP or GSHP systems.
What support do I get on my first installations?
Every job comes with a detailed cutting list (piece-by-piece breakdown with wall positions), marked-up floorplans, and full installation instructions with QR codes linking to video walkthroughs. Our technical team is available by phone during your install, and on-site project management support is available for larger or more complex jobs.
How much prior ThermaSkirt experience do I need?
None. That's what the training module covers. The product is designed to be straightforward: around 70% of our domestic customers self-install using our guides. As a qualified tradesperson, you'll pick it up quickly. The system uses push-fit connections and a simple bracket-and-click mounting method.
